Soros Students and Alumni
The Soros Foundation also sponsors their own high school exchange program in cooperation with Youth for Understanding International Exchange (YFU). The organizations offer a one semester or academic year program for students interested in participating in a cross-cultural experience in the US. Students live with host families, attend public high schools, becoming fully integrated into US society. Participants must be outgoing, able to integrate well into host family http://edu-db.freenet.kg/organs/soros2.htm. I actually recruited a couple of the students in the Soros/YFU exchange program but they decided to go with Soros instead. Some students find Soros to be a better match for them than with Accels.
